1. Privacy policy
What we collect. When you use a sign-up or intake form, we collect the information you provide: name, email address, cell phone number, city and state. We also collect basic technical information, such as browser type and pages visited, to keep the site working and to measure use.
Fonts. To display this site's typefaces, your browser loads font files from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). When it does, Google receives your IP address and browser details under Google's own privacy policy. We do not send Google any other information from this site.
How we use it. We use this information to send the reminders and news you request, to respond to your enquiries, and to maintain the site. We do not sell your personal information.
Sharing. We share information only with service providers that help us operate the site and send messages, under contracts that limit their use of it, or when required by law.
Retention and security. We keep information only as long as needed, and we use reasonable safeguards. No system is completely secure.
Children. This site is not directed to children under 13.
Cookies. The site may use cookies or similar technology for basic functions and measurement. You can control cookies in your browser settings.
2. Sensitive information notice
Do not send identity numbers, including Social Security numbers, PAN, Aadhaar, passport numbers, or full bank, demat, mutual fund folio or insurance policy numbers, through this website, its forms, email or text. Where information of this kind is needed for a consultation, it will be requested only through a secure method agreed in writing.
3. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, state privacy laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA) may give you rights to know what personal information we hold, to request correction or deletion, and to opt out of certain uses. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details in section 10. We will verify your identity before acting on a request. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
4. Terms of use
The content on this site is provided for general information. You may read and share links to the site. You may not copy the site's content for resale, scrape the site, or use it to imply an affiliation with the IRS, FinCEN, the Treasury or the Government of India.
5. Educational disclaimer and consultation terms
Information on this site is general and educational. It is not tax, legal, accounting or investment advice, and it does not create a professional relationship. A professional relationship exists only after a written engagement is signed, and then only for the services described in it. Professional services are provided only by persons holding the credentials stated in the engagement. We do not guarantee any tax, penalty or enforcement outcome. Rules on FBAR, Form 8938, PFIC and trust reporting change over time and depend on individual facts.
6. Sponsor and advertising disclosure
The banner at the top of each page shows paid sponsors. Sponsor placement does not mean we have reviewed, verified or endorse the sponsor's services, and sponsors do not control our content. Where a link is paid, it is marked as sponsored. We will label any other form of compensation when it applies.
7. Email and text (SMS) consent and terms
- Consent is optional. Signing up for alerts is voluntary and is not a condition of using the site or of any service.
- What you agree to. Reminders and news related to FBAR and foreign account deadlines.
- Frequency and cost. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply from your carrier.
- How to stop. Reply STOP to any text to cancel texts. Use the unsubscribe link in any email. Reply HELP for help, or contact us using section 10.
- Records. We keep a record of the date, time and method of your consent.
Texts will be sent only after express consent is given, as required by the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. Email messages will include our name and mailing address and an unsubscribe option, as required by the CAN-SPAM Act.
8. Accuracy, updates and corrections
We research and cite official sources, such as FinCEN and IRS publications, and label each page with its last-reviewed date. Our compliance calendar is reviewed at least quarterly and when rules change. If you find an error, please contact us. We correct verified errors promptly.
9. Accessibility and complaints
We aim to follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA as a target. If you have trouble using the site, or you have a complaint about information on it, contact us with the page address and details. We review each report and record material changes.
